From author visit to books in pupils’ hands
Tell us about your visit
Send your school name, the author, the visit date and the books you would like to offer. We’ll check availability and agree prices, the ordering deadline and delivery arrangements with you.
Share your custom page
We create a book-ordering page for your school’s event. Share the link through your usual parent communications so families can browse the agreed titles in one place.
Parents order directly
Parents choose their books, enter their child’s name and pay online before the deadline. For these event orders, they select “No shipping required” at checkout.
Books arrive together at school
We send the books in bulk to your school using the delivery arrangements agreed for your event. Pupil names help your team get each order to the right child.
A simple guide for families
How parents place an event order
- Open the specific event link supplied by your school and check the school name, author and ordering deadline.
- Enter your child’s name and any other details requested on the page, then select the books you would like to buy.
- Add your selection to the basket. At checkout, select “No shipping required” for the school-event order and pay online.
- The books are delivered together to school. Follow your school’s instructions about when and how your child will receive them.
School delivery, not home delivery: “No shipping required” means your books travel with the school’s bulk order. If you want to add unrelated shop items or need a different delivery arrangement, contact us before paying.

We’ve already booked an author. Can you supply the books?
Yes—get in touch with the author’s name, event date and proposed titles. We’ll check availability and discuss a book-ordering page for your school. This service focuses on supplying books and managing parent pre-orders.
Does school need to collect parents’ payments?
Parents pay VIP Reading directly through the event ordering page. Your school shares the link with families and coordinates the visit and distribution of the books.
How far ahead should we contact you?
Contact us as soon as you have a proposed visit date. We’ll check stock and agree an ordering deadline and delivery arrangements before the page is shared with parents.
What will the books cost?
We’ll agree the selection and prices with you before the page goes live. Each event page displays its own prices; availability and any discounts depend on the books selected.
Will the books be signed?
Signing arrangements depend on your author visit. Please agree these with the author and let us know any requirements when discussing the book order.
Can parents order after the deadline?
Please contact us first. Once event ordering has closed, we cannot assume that an additional order can be included in the school delivery.
