I have always loved reading and writing. Growing up, I kept a tower of books under my pillow for sneak-reading after lights out, and it became quite clear from a young age that putting words together in ways that made other people want to read them was basically the only thing I was any good at. After school, I lost my courage and stopped writing stories, doing lots of other jobs that didn’t make me happy for many years. I found writing again about twelve years ago, and my first book, ‘Alex Sparrow and the Really Big Stink’ was published in 2017, followed by ‘Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury’ in 2018, and ‘Mo, Lottie and the Junkers’ and ‘Alex Sparrow and the Zumbie Apocalypse’ in 2019. I love to write about friendship and family, about celebrating differences and the importance of being kind. I also enjoy putting the things I love into my stories: hedgehogs, octopuses, Star Wars references, and scenes that are a bit naughty and make me laugh really, really hard.
I live in London, with my husband, five children, and my crazy dog, Mabel. When I’m not writing, I love eating cake, especially while wearing pyjamas and fluffy slippers; sitting in my garden by the river; and going running – as far and fast as I can.
