Jacqueline Wilson

Jaqueline Wilson always wanted to be a writer and as a child would fill exercise books with her writing. Before writing full time, Jaqueline worked for a magazine publishing company and was a journalist. She introduced her most famous character in 1991 with The Story of Tracey Beaker. It was so popular, a CBBC series was created after it. Since then Jaqueline has written many more books and won countless awards including the 1999 Children’s Book of the Year at the British Book Awards, the Smarties Medal and 2002 Blue Peter People’s Choice Award. She has also been awarded an OBE and was children’s laureate from 2005 to 2007.
