As a young child, Enid Blyton always loved reading and writing and would lock herself away in her room just to write. She faced much rejection of her work early on, apart from one poem which was published in a magazine when she was aged 14. It wasn’t until the early 1920’s that Enid began to see success. Her first book was published in 1922 and by 1924 she was devoted to writing full time. She wrote hundreds of mystery and adventure books for children, most notably, Famous Five, Secret Seven, her Mystery series as well as Little Noddy. Her books and stories for children are still much loved today.
